Why We Decided to Rebuild Our Detail Program From the Ground Up

South Florida is hard on cars. Between the sun, the salt air, the summer storms, and the pollen that shows up out of nowhere in the spring, a vehicle here ages faster than it does almost anywhere else in the country. A good wash keeps a car looking sharp week to week. Detailing is what protects the investment underneath.

For a long time, detailing at Mint was something we offered. It wasn’t something we had truly built. So over the past several months, our team took the whole program apart and put it back together around four ideas we’re willing to be judged on.

  1. Breadth. Not every car needs the same thing. A three-year-old SUV with two kids and a dog in it has different problems than a weekend convertible. We expanded our menu so there’s a right-sized service at both ends — a quick interior reset, a deep clean, paint polishing and long-term protection — instead of one expensive package that only fits a few people.
  2. Quality. This is the pillar that makes the other three matter. Our detail technicians work to a defined standard, and someone checks the work before the keys go back to you. If it isn’t right, we do it again. That’s not a marketing promise; it’s how the department is run.
  3. Accessibility. Detailing has a reputation for being a once-a-year luxury. We don’t think it should be. We priced and structured the program so that caring for your car properly is a normal thing you do a few times a year, not a special occasion you save up for.
  4. Speed. Nobody wants to give up their car for two days. Most of our detail services are designed to be completed while you go about your afternoon, and we’ll tell you honestly up front how long it will take.

Those four pillars — breadth, quality, accessibility, speed — are now how we train, how we schedule, and how we measure the department internally.

The program is live at our full-service locations, and our teams are ready to walk you through what your car actually needs. My honest advice: ask them. They’ll tell you if all you need is a good wash.

Thanks, as always, for letting us take care of your cars.
